June is a wonderful month for humankind alike; but if you were a chicken, you may not be thinking of such a thought. My sumptuous hen Mocha, if you would dare say, is currently sitting on eggs that are to hatch some time around 21-22 June. However, a heat wave may stop her from hatching the baby chicks. In the summer of 2021, Mocha was once sitting on eggs, though a heat wave came—the temperatures reaching up to 88-9 degrees, I would say. Mocha found it to be too hot for her to be warming up eggs in a nesting box, so, simply, she got up and stopped sitting on them. Now, in the summer of 2022 with heat waves starting to form, I am awfully worried about Mocha. Possibilities are that, if she would continue sitting on the eggs no matter the heat, she would overheat - and if she doesn’t do that, I’m afraid she will leave the eggs again.
